|Hi everyone, I hope you are keeping safe and well.|
I also hope you have enjoyed being back on the course, between the wettest winter on record and the lockdown it has been a long time and that has been reflected in the enjoyment on many faces over the last week. I had it described to me as like being “let out of prison”
It has been particularly nice to see the number of parent and child / husband and wife groups playing over the last week, I hope there have been no “domestics” on the course or back at home afterwards!
The first and most important thing to say on behalf of the board, Adrian and myself is a massive thank you to members for how you have embraced the measures in place, kept things flowing and most importantly kept it safe.
I am attaching the partial opening policy again as a reminder, with a few gentle reminders below to make sure we are looking after each other:
Please do not congregate in the car park before or after play, no matter how strong the temptation to catch up with friends.
Just as in normal times, please keep trollies away from the apron of greens or between bunkers.
When booking your rounds, please specify both names playing rather than using the “member with” facility. This has become less as more and more people have registered for BRS, if you are having any trouble with this Adrian or I can help you. We will phone you if it is not clear who is playing. As well as keeping an accurate record, this has also been cited as best practice by the R&A and England Golf as an accurate “track and trace” measure in the event of anyone becoming ill.
Remember that the practice net and fairway are closed, and the putting green is only for use by the next group on the tee.
Also please use the whole of the teeing areas to avoid excessive wear.
As a suggestion, please bring a plastic bag to take your rubbish home, and a damp cloth or wipes to clean your golf ball.
And finally, please show some camaraderie to your fellow members when booking times. If you are able to play through the week, remember those who can’t. In terms of booking three times a week, please use this as a rule of thumb initially, but if times remain at a day’s notice, feel free to get another game in. The members only rule will stay in place for now as the tee is getting almost fully booked, when the opportunity arises there may initially be scope for members to bring a guest before any “visitor” bookings are allowed.
Thank you again to everyone. Please note that at Jonathan’s request there will be no bookings after 7pm Thursday to enable him to do some work on the greens, I think you will agree he and his team have done a great job.
With best wishes
